Mapplication is the short hand name I am using for (Mapping Application). The Mapplication's goals are to make location-based information more accessible and relevant. The latest version of this application is up at www.phillypolice.com/districts. Although the current version is serving data relevant to the City of Philadelphia's Police Department, the theory is that the underlying concepts could be applied to any other Government Agency, or Businesses that requires a mapping application. This series of posts will describe the approach I am using to develop a practical application that, amongst other uses, utilizes human computation to enhance an embedded map application.
